Silver Hills Higher Secondary School follows the syllabus of the Kerala State Education Board SCERT (State Council of Educational Research and Training). We have classes starting from Std I and all the way upto std XII. All the students undergoing education here belong to the nearby vicinity and care is taken that no child is excluded from the right to basic education. The medium of education is English. Malayalam and Hindi are taught in all classes as second language or mother tongue and third language or national language. Other than this, basic science, mathematics, social science, IT education, also comprise of the academic curriculum of the school. Students have access to a well-stocked library for both their academic enquiry and recreational reading.
Sport and physical training, art education, work experience also form part of the daily schedule of all students. These are well integrated into the regular curriculum to provide a balance in the learning process. The school timetable is interspersed with a healthy mix of PT.
NSS is a voluntary association of young people in Colleges, Universities and at +2 level working for a campus-community. The programme aims to instil the idea of social welfare in students, and to provide service to society without bias. NSS volunteers work to ensure that every needy gets help to enhance their standard of living and lead a life of dignity. The volunteers learn from people in villages on how to lead a good life despite the scarcity of resources. It also provides help in natural and man-made disasters by providing food, clothing and first aid to the victims.
The Junior Red Cross is the Students' wing of the Red Cross. It is a group movement organized within schools. The teachers who guide the students in JRC activities are called Counsellor. The motto of the Junior Red Cross is “I Serve” and the members’ age group is 12 to 17 years.
Scouting develops self-knowledge and the need to explore and discover the world beyond the classroom, tapping the skills of others to learn and become well-rounded people. Through recreation, Scouting helps to achieves its purpose of developing young people physically, intellectually and socially. It helps build confidence and self-esteem within and learning important life skills.
